4. FDR and the New Deal: Knowledge on how President Roosevelt tried
to solve the problems of the New Deal.


5. VIDEO: The video above is excellent for showing a successful part of the New Deal - the TVA.
It starts with highlighting the new entertainment of the so-called 'Roaring Twenties'.
The Wall St Crash is referred to as Black Tuesday. FDR's voice is taken from his 'fireside chats'
where he explained the New Deal to the American people (mainly distorted - reduce the volume).

6. VIDEO: This video is simply a short film on Roosevelt. It includes the speech from the ceremony
that made him President for the first time in 1932. Note the positive tone of the speech - this was a time
of great hardship for the American people. President Hoover's 'Rugged Individualism'
(people helping themselves) had done nothing to solve the problems of the Depression.
